High expectations!

This is Beka's first attempt with blogging. I have high expectations.

This is my first blog. We are in this homeschool group called "The Explorers" and we take field trips to different places. The most recent one was to this man's house and he collects bugs He's got OVER 1,000 BUGS in cases! His name is Mr. Jones. There are bugs from different countries such as, Brazil, Africa and South America!

Homeschooling has let us do things such as, going to Atlanta for my uncle's Quad Rugby Regional Tournament. Quad Rugby is a game for quadriplegics (complete or partial paralysis of both arms and both legs.) It's cool how with different injuries they push down the court differently. They have to have special titanium or iron chairs because they SLAM REALLY HARD into each other !!! (My brother and I get into the rugby chairs when the players transfer back into their everyday chairs and we crash into each other! )

Busy At The Barn

I ride horses at Dogwood Terrace Stables, if you have ever been to Jones Gap you have seen it, it's the two big red barns and the pasture filled with horse on both sides of the road. We have 21 regular size horses, 1 miniature horse (Angus), and his bff ram (Dodge), 2 dogs, and lots of barn cats.

I had every intention of blogging everything about our first year of homeschooling. But, like most things these days the blog was put on the back burner. I will attempt to catch you up on our year so far, we have: not killed each other yet, tried three different math curriculum's, learned to read, learned multiplication, explored graves, an apple orchard, museums, water quality, movies, lots of books, dead things, horses, music, cooking, art, and holidays. We have survived the flu, stomach viruses, and sinus infections. We made peanut butter fudge for friends and neighbors, and of course ourselves. Pretty busy huh?

So in order to have an excuse for blogging, I am going to turn part of this over to Beka. She will be partly responsible for keeping you up to date on our adventures in homeschooling. So, check back soon and you will have a post inspired by the girl child.
